Adam Radford founded Grist Designs in 2023, bringing with him a strong foundation in naval architecture and hands-on boating experience. After graduating from the Australian Maritime College in 2018 with a degree in Naval Architecture, Adam spent more than six years designing and project managing a diverse range of commercial and recreational vessels.

Since establishing Grist Designs, Adam has focused on delivering high-quality vessel designs and practical, experience-driven advice to clients. His approach combines technical expertise with a keen eye for detail, resulting in efficient, buildable designs and refined hull forms that perform exceptionally on the water while standing out at the boat ramp.

Boats are more than just Adam's profession; they are his passion. Outside of work, he can often be found in his shed restoring FRP boats, rewiring a mate's vessel, or taking apart and rebuilding marine systems to better understand how they work. When he's not designing or repairing boats, he's usually out on the water enjoying them firsthand.

This deep connection to boating gives Adam a practical perspective that informs every project. He understands vessels not only as a designer and engineer, but also as a builder, owner, and operator. For Adam, boat design is more than a career. It is a lifelong passion that influences everything he does.
